Things to do at homeThere will not be much homework in Kindergarten. However you will see three different types of homework throughout the year: reading, math, and writing.
Reading: *Please try to read 15-20 minutes each night with your child. Make sure you each take turns reading. Here are some different read aloud strategies: -Read the words -Retell a story that has already been read to them -Tell a story by looking at the pictures -Find known letters and/or sight words Writing : Your child will be bringing home Homework Writing Pages. This will contain a list of words for your child to write. Please read the words out loud to your child and let your child do the sounding out! Do not correct their work. It is important for them to think about and write the sounds they hear! Math: Math Home Links will be coming home with extension activities that build on what we learn in Math throughout the year. Please check communication folders for these activities. |
